Sleek discreet design makes a big impact

DesignEX judges could not go past the sleek lines, thoughtful design and unobtrusive façade, awarding the new JD MacDonald Select Classic hand dryer combination with the New Product Award for Bathroomware at designEX earlier this month.
JD MacDonald took out the coveted award after launching its versatile hand dryer combination at the annual expo.
‘In the new Select Classic we have created what our market wanted, and it's a product we are very proud of,' Division Manager, Melinda Green said.
‘We already thought we had a great product but to take out this designEX award is further acknowledgement that what we have designed is not only functional and aesthetically very pleasing, but forward-thinking too, and almost certainly places us a frontrunner in the marketplace.'
The Select Classic stands out for its simplicity and sleek, modern minimalist finish, sitting flush with the wall space. The units come in a convenient three-in-one hand dryer, waste paper bin and paper towel dispenser model, or a two-in-one design, allowing for all markets.
‘A lot of thought has gone into the design and construction of these units,' Melinda Green said.
‘They have a sleek design with surfaces designed to be approachable, unobtrusive, soft flowing and hardwearing, almost blending in to the washroom walls. And the fully-flush finish combined with an automatic angled airflow of the hand dryers ensures external hand drying, reducing the exposure and potential for bacteria. So not only do they look good and function well, they are also incredibly hygienic.'
Furthermore, the Select Classic range is low maintenance and requires less frequent servicing than its competitors, Melinda Green said.
‘Cleaning of the unit is simple and they are keyed alike for security and ease of access and maintenance. But it is the 25.7litre capacity of the waste bin and enlarged-capacity paper towel dispenser that sets it further apart.' she said.
‘The range is also very easy to install and maintain, with remarkably quiet hand dryers, and to make our products even more attractive to the consumer, we are also Australian-designed and manufactured, a feature we are particularly proud of.
